Ulrich in shape?

Ullrich on track in South Africa!

Jan Ullrich has spent a good Christmas training in South Africa, according to his mentor Rudy Pevenage. Ullrich is training more seriously than ever with the new season fast approaching, and has managed to win his annual battle of the bulge in the off-season. "Jan is training five hours per day," said Pevenage to Algemeen Dagblad. "His weight is good for this time of year, he feels fantastic. When Ullrich returns to Europe, he will have already ridden 2500 km."

fixedgear's next purchase?

From today's Philadelphia Daily News:

"What might be the most expensive bicycle in the city is on display (and for sale for $11,000) at Cadence Performance Cycling Center on Main Street in Manayunk. Cadence's chief mechanic, Thomas "Woody" Wood, built it on a Cyfac "Panthere" frame and used wheels, drive train, brakes and shifters from Campagnolo, as well as ITM white carbon stem handlebars from Italy."

The question is, how long before fixedgear buys this bike?

Armstrong vs. Santa

If you want to know the story behind this picture, you'll have to click here. Note that Armstrong is not wearing his new Discovery Channel cycling team kit (which is probably not ready yet) but is sporting a Livestrong jersey.

In not one but two Discovery Channel/TLC tie-ins, the constantly bickering Teutels of American Chopper fame built the "Lance Armstrong Bike" which they presented to Armstrong on the Jay Leno show and Overhaulin' pranked Armstrong and overhauled his '70 GTO.

Are you ready for the holidays?

The image above features Santa on the left side drive fixed wheel bike. Looks like he forgot his sack o' toys, though. Maybe he is on his way to the bar?
